Campus Ministry Graduate
I joined Campus Ministry at the start of college, not really knowing what Mahibere Kidusan was or what it offered. I had no expectations. I simply saw a post on social media about a monthly meeting and decided to go. Looking back, I now see how that one small decision became one of the most life changing moments of my college journey. That first meeting opened a door I didn’t even know I needed. From that day on, I began attending the weekly college Campus Ministry classes.Through the chaos and busyness of school, these classes gave me a sense of peace and purpose. The classes gave me the background knowledge I needed to not just believe but to truly understand my faith. They gave me tools to examine my life, to grow closer to God, and to navigate college with a spiritual compass. As the weeks turned into months, I realized how much Campus Ministry was shaping me, not just spiritually, but emotionally and personally. There were times in college when I felt torn between trying to enjoy the “college experience” and staying true to my faith. Sometimes it felt like I was missing out, or that everything around me was pulling me in a direction I did not want to go. But Campus Ministry gave me something steady to hold on to. It gave me a sense of purpose and helped lay the foundation of my faith. So when I was faced with moments of struggle, I did not feel lost, I had something to turn to. Campus Ministry gave me the tools, the guidance, and the spiritual resources to not just endure those moments, but to grow through them. One of the most meaningful things we accomplished as a group was hosting the Day of Praise conference. What started as an idea after one of our classes turned into hours of late night planning. We talked about what the theme should be, who would speak, which hymns we wanted to include. And by the grace of God, it came to life. Seeing youth from across Seattle come together to glorify God was one of the most powerful moments of my college years. It was so impactful that we decided to make it an annual conference. Now, as I graduate and reflect on my college journey, I truly cannot imagine it without MK Campus Ministry. I leave college not just with a degree, but with a strong foundation in my faith, a committed prayer life, and a community that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. For all of this, glory be to God.
