CAMPUS MINISTRY SUPPORT
Helping you navigate your spiritual journey through EOTC teachings, campus ministry, and learning resources.
Campus Ministry is a spiritual community for Ethiopian Orthodox Christian students on campus. All students interested in deepening their faith, learning about Orthodox Christianity, or connecting with fellow believers are welcome to join, regardless of their background or level of knowledge.
We gather every Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Student Union Building, Room 205, for Divine Liturgy study and fellowship. We also hold weekly Bible study sessions on Wednesdays at 6:00 PM. Check our social media pages for special event schedules and location updates.
Not at all! While we incorporate traditional liturgical languages, all our discussions and teachings are conducted in English to ensure everyone can participate fully. We're happy to explain the meaning and significance of prayers in Ge'ez and Amharic.
We organize spiritual retreats, fasting periods guidance, feast day celebrations (like Meskel, Timkat, and Fasika), community service projects, guest speaker events with priests and scholars, and social gatherings to build community among students.
We provide spiritual guidance, confession opportunities with visiting priests, prayer support during exams and difficult times, fasting companionship, and a community that understands the unique challenges of maintaining Orthodox practices in a secular academic environment.
Yes! We arrange regular visits from Ethiopian Orthodox priests who provide spiritual counseling and hear confessions. We also have trained spiritual mentors available for guidance between priestly visits. All conversations are kept confidential.
We provide fasting calendars, organize group fasting support, share vegan Ethiopian recipes suitable for fasting, and coordinate communal meals to break fasts together. We also offer guidance for students with dietary restrictions or health concerns.
Absolutely! We welcome students to serve as worship coordinators, event planners, social media managers, outreach coordinators, or small group leaders. Leadership training and mentorship are provided to help you grow in service.
We offer catechism classes covering Orthodox theology, church history, liturgical practices, and the lives of saints. We also maintain a library of books and resources, and host educational seminars with knowledgeable clergy and scholars.
Campus Ministry is supported through voluntary donations from students, alumni, and local Ethiopian Orthodox churches. Financial contributions help cover event costs, materials, and guest speaker expenses. You can also contribute through volunteering your time and talents.
